Pickwick Mill

Pickwick Mill is a grist mill in Minnesota, built in 1858 and now a tourist attraction.

History

Pickwick Mill was built on the banks of Big Trout Creek, Pickwick, Minnesota in 1858 by Thomas Grant and Wilson Davis. The six-storey building is constructed from local limestone,[1] with a nail-less timber frame.[2] It is one of the largest mills in Minnesota and was one of the first community businesses in the state.[3] It operated as a sawmill during the civil war. The mill is powered by a 20-foot water wheel.[1]

Today

It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although not in commercial use today, the mill is still operational as a tourist attraction, with original machinery and a restaurant.
